Hubli Tigers have named Aneeshwar Gautam as the captain for the upcoming fifth edition of the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 in Bengaluru. The team also revealed their new jersey and launched the official Hubli Tigers anthem ahead of the tournament. Champions of the 2023 edition, the Tigers are eager to secure another title this season.
Aneeshwar Gautam expressed his excitement about leading the team, mentioning the support and confidence he received from the coaching staff and players. He described it as an honor to captain the side and expressed his special connection with the team. Head Coach Vinay Kumar commended the franchise’s structure and the balanced squad they have assembled for the tournament.
Vinay Kumar highlighted the support provided by the management, likening the franchise’s operations to that of an IPL team. He emphasized the importance of a mix of experienced players and young talent in the team. The coach expressed confidence in the team’s capabilities and urged the players to give their best in the competition.
The event announcing the team captain and jersey launch was attended by key figures including KSCA Vice-President Sujit Somasunder and Hubli Tigers owner Shivek Jindal. The franchise’s co-owner, Sushil Kumar Jindal, emphasized the significance of the team’s jersey and anthem, symbolizing the pride and ambition of North Karnataka. The tournament will feature six teams competing for the title across Mysuru, Hubballi, and Bengaluru.
Hubli Tigers will kick off their campaign against Coastal Kings Mangaluru on June 21 in the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 Season 5. The tournament, scheduled from June 20 to July 12, will see matches hosted in various cities, with Hubballi set to host 12 matches from June 27 to July 3. Mysore Warriors also unveiled their jersey and announced Vyshak Vijaykumar as their captain.
