Hubli Tigers showcased a remarkable comeback in the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20, overpowering Gulbarga Mystics by 10 wickets in Hubballi. In a rain-shortened match of 15 overs each, the Tigers restricted the Mystics to 139 runs, with Vaibhav Sharma’s impressive left-arm swing bowling yielding 3 wickets for just 9 runs.
Responding aggressively, the Tigers chased down the target with ease, reaching 143 without any loss in just 12.1 overs. Opening batsmen Mayank Agarawal and Mohammed Taha both smashed unbeaten half-centuries, with Agarawal’s explosive 81 off 38 balls and Taha’s resilient 57 off 35 balls steering the Tigers to victory.
Vaibhav Sharma, the 19-year-old bowling sensation, set the tone early by dismissing the top three Mystics’ batsmen, putting the opponents under pressure from the start. Despite some resistance from Thippa Reddy and Manish Pandey, the Mystics fell short, unable to defend their total against the dominant Tigers.
Hubli Tigers secured their second win in five matches, climbing to the fourth spot with five points, while Gulbarga Mystics faced their third defeat but held on to the third position with six points.
