As violence against civilians escalates in Balochistan, Baloch Voice for Justice expressed concern over the enforced disappearance of two Baloch individuals. Munib Baloch and Mughfar Abid were taken from Kharan city, highlighting a disturbing trend of disappearances in the region. The rights organization demanded immediate disclosure of their whereabouts for safety assurance.
Another human rights group, Baloch Yakjehti Committee, reported that 18 Baloch individuals were forcibly disappeared in recent Pakistani armed forces’ raids in Balochistan. These incidents, including raids in Kech and Gwadar, reflect a pattern of collective punishment against the Baloch people. Security forces are accused of conducting coordinated raids and targeted operations leading to enforced disappearances.
The Baloch Yakjehti Committee specified that 11 individuals from Hothabad, Kech, and seven from Panwan Jiwani, Gwadar, were forcibly disappeared by security forces. While some were released, others remain in illegal custody without information on their whereabouts. The group condemned the intensified oppression in Gwadar’s Panwan Jiwani area, targeting the local fishing community through enforced disappearances and violent home raids.
Balochistan continues to face severe human rights violations, including enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and illegal detentions by Pakistani authorities. The Baloch Yakjehti Committee urged national and international human rights organizations, the United Nations, and the global community to intervene urgently for accountability and the safe release of all disappeared individuals.
