Violence against civilians in Balochistan is on the rise, with two Baloch civilians reportedly disappeared by Pakistani forces. Ismail Malik, a teacher, was taken by the Pakistan Army from Kharan district, while Jasim Jan, a 28-year-old laborer, was abducted from Panjgur district. Both individuals’ whereabouts are unknown, causing distress to their families.
These incidents add to the increasing cases of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in Balochistan. Sabiha Baloch, a leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, highlighted the challenges faced by the Baloch community, including the disappearance of Baloch women and legal harassment. She criticized Pakistani authorities for alleged atrocities and human rights violations in the region.
Sabiha accused Pakistani forces of conducting raids, harassing civilians, and disappearing men under the pretext of ‘Intelligence-Based Operations’. She condemned the actions as genocide and emphasized the suffering endured by the people of Balochistan. Sabiha vowed to continue the struggle against oppression and injustice, asserting that the Baloch community will not be silenced.
