In a significant development in the Twisha Sharma case, Samarth Singh, the husband of the deceased actress and model, has been placed on remand by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) until May 29. The CBI took over the probe after Twisha Sharma’s death, investigating allegations of mental harassment, dowry demands, and torture by her husband and in-laws. Twisha Sharma, a former model and actress, was found hanging at her residence in Bhopal on May 12, 2026.
The case, initially treated as a suspected dowry death by Bhopal police, gained national attention due to Twisha’s background. Samarth Singh, a lawyer and son of a retired judge, had been missing for almost 10 days after the incident. He was arrested in Jabalpur after withdrawing his anticipatory bail application. Police accused him of withholding crucial information about his movements on the day of Twisha’s death.
The Madhya Pradesh High Court is currently considering a bail plea related to the case, with the family of the deceased seeking justice. Police have conducted searches at the couple’s residence, examining digital evidence, call records, and financial transactions. The CBI team visited Samarth Singh’s residence for further investigation, assuring a thorough inquiry.
