Hyderabad police arrested two Nigerians involved in drug supply, seizing 150 grams of MDMA from one of them. Identified as Chidi Ezeh and Obasi James Victor, the duo was apprehended by the Hyderabad-Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) and Toli Chowki police during a joint operation. Chidi Ezeh, who arrived in India in 2014, had previously been arrested in Hyderabad for drug possession.
According to Vaibhav Gaikwad, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Task Force/HNEW, the MDMA was confiscated from Chidi Ezeh. Investigations revealed that Chidi Ezeh had been obtaining drugs from a Nigerian national named Chris in Delhi and distributing them in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and New Delhi. He had been involved in multiple drug-related cases, including two in Hyderabad.
Obasi James Victor, the other Nigerian national, entered India on a tourist visa in 2011 and has been residing in Delhi with his family. While no cases are pending against Obasi James, the H-NEW has initiated his deportation process to Nigeria in collaboration with the FRRO and the Nigerian Embassy.
