Hyderabad police caught an 18-year-old candidate cheating during the NEET re-test by using a mobile phone hidden in a washroom flush tank at the exam center. The incident took place at a government school in Ragannaguda under the Adibatla Police Station limits. The candidate, from Achampet, had pre-planned the cheating by concealing the phone on the school premises before the exam.
The student arrived at the school early in the morning, placed the mobile phone in the washroom ventilator, and later hid it in a flush tank. Despite thorough security checks by the police at 6 A.M. and 11 A.M., the hidden phone went unnoticed. During the exam, the student complained of stomach pain, used the restroom, and was caught searching for answers on the phone.
Upon discovering the cheating, the police confiscated the mobile phone, which was being used to search for answers on Google Chrome. The student admitted to the wrongdoing during interrogation and is currently in police custody. A case has been filed by the school administration under relevant sections of the law against unfair means in examinations.
