Two riders from Hyderabad, Rahil Pillarisetty and Rajender Beedani, secured championship titles in their categories at the MMSC fmsci Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship held at the Madras International Circuit. Rahil Pillarisetty emerged victorious in the Pro-Stock 301-400cc Open race, claiming his first national title since 2017 with a daring last-corner move against his rival Sarthak Chavan. Meanwhile, Rajender Beedani overcame an early setback to clinch his title in a hard-fought race, marking his fifth win in nine races.
The day’s events were impacted by light rain and fading light, leading to the postponement of one race to the following day. Rahil Pillarisetty, aged 28, expressed his relief at ending an eight-year wait for a championship victory, emphasizing his calm approach during the race despite facing tough competition from his opponents. Similarly, Rajender Beedani, aged 21, showcased determination and skill as he battled back from a fourth-place position to secure his championship win, thanking his team and supporters for their backing over the years.
In another category, Varun Patil from Bengaluru, known as a “Gentleman Rider,” secured the Stock 301-400cc championship by strategically staying away from the leading pack to secure crucial points for a mid-grid finish. The race was won by Jagadeesh Nagaraj, with Varun Patil doing enough to seal his title. Additionally, former National champion Ann Jennifer claimed victory in the Girls (Stock 165cc) race, moving into second place in the points table behind Jagathishee Kumaresan, setting the stage for an exciting final race of the season.
