In a crackdown on illegal arms production, a joint team of the Special Task Force (STF) and Munger Police discovered a mini gun factory in the Tarapur Diara region near the Ganges River. The operation led to the arrest of four individuals involved in the illicit activity. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Mufassil Police Station.
Acting on a confidential tip-off, the police conducted a raid at the site, which was accessed by crossing the Ganges River by boat from Maniyarchak Ghat. The arrested individuals, identified as Md. Sarfaraz alias Langda, Md. Atiq, Prakash Singh alias Prakash Bind, and Vikas Kumar, were residents of specific areas in Munger. A significant amount of arms and manufacturing equipment, including pistols, cartridges, and machines, were seized during the operation.
Following the arrests, an FIR was filed against the accused, who were later presented in the district court and remanded to judicial custody. The police are continuing their investigation to uncover the wider network associated with the illegal arms factory, including its supply chain and connections. This raid follows a previous operation on April 16, where another illegal gun manufacturing unit was dismantled in Munger.
