The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for Rajasthan, predicting a mix of conditions in the state. Rajasthan is set to face intense heatwave conditions for two more days before a change in weather patterns brings some relief. A western disturbance is expected to bring gusty winds, thunderstorms, and light rain to nearly 16 districts.
Radheshyam Sharma, Director of the Meteorological Centre in Jaipur, mentioned that severe heat will persist in Rajasthan, with temperatures likely to increase by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius. The northwestern districts are expected to experience temperatures ranging between 44 and 45 degrees Celsius. Most parts of the state have been under severe heat, with maximum temperatures reaching up to 44.1 degrees Celsius in Barmer.
Authorities in Alwar have implemented measures like sprinkling water on roads to lower surface temperatures and provide temporary relief to residents. Additionally, alerts have been issued for gusty winds, thunderstorms, and light rain in parts of Sikar, Churu, Jhunjhunu, and Nagaur. Meteorologists suggest that once the western disturbance becomes active, Rajasthan may see thunderstorms, dust storms, and light rainfall, offering some respite from the ongoing heatwave.
