India and Belgium held discussions on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, technology, logistics, and workforce mobility. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal met with David Clarinval, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Employment, Economy, and Agriculture of Belgium, emphasizing the potential of the India-EU Free Trade Agreement. Goyal also engaged with EU Commissioner for Climate, Net-Zero, and Clean Growth, Wopke Hoekstra, to enhance collaboration in clean growth and climate action.
Goyal further met with Thomas Colinet and Bruno Lete of Thales Belgium, discussing opportunities for the company to expand its manufacturing footprint in India. Additionally, Goyal explored avenues for strengthening collaboration with Jordi Hereu, Minister of Industry and Tourism of Spain, focusing on trade, investment, manufacturing, and innovation. The discussions aimed at fostering industrial partnerships and building resilient supply chains for mutual benefits.
