India and Norway recently engaged in discussions to enhance their bilateral ties, focusing on sectors such as sustainability, climate, innovation, digitalization, shipping, tunneling, and the Arctic. The talks involved Additional Secretary of India’s Ministry of External Affairs, Pooja Kapur, and State Secretary of Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik. Kravik, who had visited India for the Raisina Dialogue, emphasized the importance of India-Norway partnership in addressing global challenges.
In a meeting, Kapur and Kravik explored avenues for strengthening business collaborations, including through the India-EFTA TEPA trade agreement. Additionally, Kapur met with Trine Heimerback, Director General at Norway Prime Minister’s Office, to discuss enhancing cooperation between India and the Nordic nations. The discussions underscored the mutual commitment to bolstering relations and cooperation in various fields.
Furthermore, Secretary (West) at India’s Ministry of External Affairs, Sibi George, held discussions with Ragnhild Sjoner Syrstad, State Secretary at the Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry, in Oslo. Their talks centered on enhancing economic ties and promoting investments in green and blue tech sectors. The engagements between India and Norway reflect a long-standing relationship based on shared values of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.
