Tall pacer Gurnoor Brar’s exceptional performance guided India A to a dominant ten-wicket win over Sri Lanka A in the second unofficial Test, securing a 1-0 series triumph. Brar shone with a remarkable ten-wicket match haul, claiming career-best figures of 10-145.
India A, starting from a strong position of 541/8, saw a quick end to their innings as left-arm spinner Keshara Nuwantha completed a five-wicket haul. Despite Ruturaj Gaikwad’s absence due to injury, Brar, along with pacers Aaqib Nabi Dar and Thakur, rattled Sri Lanka A’s top order, reducing them to 49/4 early on.
Sri Lanka A’s resistance mainly came from Ashen Bandara, who scored a quick 87 off 86 balls, supported briefly by Anjala Bandara. However, Brar’s lethal spell broke their partnership, leading to a collapse as Sri Lanka A was bowled out for 209. Brar claimed a six-for, with support from off-spinner Saransh Jain.
In the chase of a modest 33-run target, openers B Sai Sudharsan and Aman Mokhade efficiently sealed the victory for India A in just 6.2 overs, wrapping up a successful tour that included winning the red-ball trophy after securing the 50-over tri-series earlier.
