India has included wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson and fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah in their lineup as Namibia won the toss and chose to bowl first in the Group A clash of the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Defending champions India narrowly escaped a scare from the USA in their previous match at the Wankhede Stadium, winning by 29 runs. Namibia, on the other hand, enters this game after a seven-wicket loss to the Netherlands.

India’s captain Suryakumar Yadav confirmed that Samson and Bumrah are replacing Abhishek Sharma and Mohammed Siraj in the team. Abhishek Sharma was hospitalized in New Delhi due to a stomach infection but has been discharged ahead of the match. Yadav expressed satisfaction with batting first, emphasizing the importance of winning games despite losing the toss. He highlighted the significance of the tournament and the challenge of dealing with dew conditions.

Namibia has also made changes to their lineup, with Malan Kruger and Ben Shikongo coming in for Dylan Leicher and William Myburgh. The pitch at the stadium is expected to offer a flat surface with even bounce and good carry under lights, although dew might play a role. The boundaries range from 59 to 73 meters, with a longer boundary on the off side for right-handed batters from the Willingdon end.
