India strongly denounced the recent suicide bombing at a Shia mosque in Islamabad, expressing sorrow for the lives lost. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs criticized Pakistan’s accusations as unfounded and an attempt to divert attention from its internal issues. Pakistani officials, including Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s office, pointed fingers at external forces without substantial evidence.

The bombing at the Khadija Tul Kubra mosque in Islamabad resulted in the death of at least 31 individuals and left 169 others injured during Friday prayers. Witnesses mentioned hearing gunfire before the explosion, followed by a suicide bomber detonating explosives among worshippers. Hospitals in the capital declared emergencies as rescue teams rushed to aid the wounded, some in critical condition.

Amid the tragedy, officials, including Pakistan’s parliamentary affairs minister Tariq Fazal, visited injured patients at Polyclinic Hospital to provide reassurance and medical support. Health authorities highlighted that several victims remained critically injured, raising concerns about a potential increase in the death toll. The coordinated response involved police, rescue services, and security forces securing the blast site and prioritizing swift medical assistance to prevent further casualties.
