PM Modi Lauds Surat Residents for Cleanliness Efforts and Development Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the residents of Surat for their dedication to enhancing cleanliness and civic engagement. During his visit, he inaugurated major infrastructure projects totaling approximately Rs 18,800 crore in the city. PM Modi praised Surat as more than just a city, highlighting the spirit and determination of its people.

Surat, once plagued by a devastating outbreak, has now gained national recognition for its cleanliness standards. Despite these achievements, local efforts to maintain sanitation have persisted. PM Modi acknowledged the city’s continuous commitment to cleanliness and applauded the residents for their active participation in various cleanliness campaigns.

The Prime Minister’s visit included the inauguration and foundation stone laying for projects focusing on road connectivity, power infrastructure, healthcare, and industrial development in Surat. Notable projects launched aim to enhance connectivity and support economic growth in South Gujarat. PM Modi also visited the Hazira industrial area to review ongoing operations and infrastructure projects.

PM Modi highlighted the recent local body elections in Surat, noting the BJP’s significant victory. He expressed gratitude for the continued support from the people, emphasizing the government’s dedication to fulfilling their aspirations. The visit to Surat was part of PM Modi’s itinerary in Gujarat and Daman on World Environment Day, where he inaugurated development projects in both regions.
