India has strongly criticized Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif for his recent remarks questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi receiving Seychelles’ highest environmental award. Government sources labeled Asif as “mentally unstable” and highlighted his lack of knowledge on the matter. The response from India came after Asif’s comments on PM Modi’s environmental recognition.
Prime Minister Modi was honored with the ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’ award by Seychelles on June 28, recognizing his leadership in environmental conservation and sustainable development. PM Modi dedicated the award to all nations committed to environmental protection and climate change efforts, emphasizing its significance during the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Seychelles.
The award acknowledged PM Modi’s extensive efforts towards environmental sustainability, including initiatives like the International Solar Alliance, Mission LiFE, and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam. This recognition adds to a series of global accolades received by PM Modi for his contributions to climate action, sustainable development, and green initiatives. In the past, he has been honored with prestigious awards such as the Agricola Medal and the Seoul Peace Prize.
