During the event, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim joined PM Modi, emphasizing the importance of the India-Malaysia Partnership for Advancing Collective Transformation (IMPACT). PM Modi reiterated that India’s success resonates with Malaysia and Asia, shaping the foundation of their relationship based on mutual growth and prosperity.
The visit aimed to bolster the India-Malaysia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership established in 2024, aligning with India’s commitment to enhancing ties with Malaysia under its Act East Policy and Indo-Pacific vision. PM Modi’s trip, at the invitation of Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim, marks his third visit to Malaysia since 2015, reflecting the strong bond between the two nations.
Acknowledging Malaysia’s significant Indian-origin community, PM Modi praised their contributions in bridging cultural ties between the two countries. He commended the community’s efforts in preserving traditions and highlighted the Tamil diaspora’s longstanding service to Malaysian society.
PM Modi also announced plans to establish a Thiruvalluvar Centre at the University of Malaya to further strengthen the shared heritage between India and Malaysia. Encouraging cultural exchanges, he invited attendees to explore India and foster people-to-people connections, emphasizing the importance of such interactions in nurturing bilateral friendship.
