The India International Conference on Democracy and Election Management (IICDEM) 2026 wrapped up successfully in New Delhi with the unanimous adoption of the Delhi Declaration. Hosted by the Election Commission of India (ECI) at the Bharat Mandapam, the event gathered heads of 42 Election Management Bodies (EMBs) globally, along with experts and officials. The conference aimed to bolster the integrity, inclusivity, and efficiency of democratic processes through shared initiatives. Participants pledged to maintain pure electoral rolls, conduct transparent and inclusive elections, and utilize technology to support electoral integrity.
The Delhi Declaration 2026 also focused on research, publications, and training to strengthen democratic practices worldwide.
