India’s digital payments ecosystem, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has become the world’s largest, according to Gujarat BJP president Jagdish Vishwakarma. Speaking at the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sammelan’ in Rajkot, Vishwakarma praised initiatives like Jan Dhan Yojana and Digital India for driving the country’s digital transformation.
He highlighted that India now boasts the world’s largest digital payment ecosystem, with millions conducting online transactions daily through UPI. The event, part of the BJP’s “12 Years of Trust, Development and Public Welfare” campaign, celebrated the achievements of the Modi-led Union government.
Vishwakarma emphasized the impact of Jan Dhan Yojana and Digital India, noting that these initiatives had significantly enhanced access to banking services nationwide. He mentioned the opening of over 58 crore bank accounts through Jan Dhan, injecting more than Rs two lakh crore into the banking system.
The BJP president underscored that the progress showcased nationwide goes beyond political milestones, serving as a testament to development, trust, and public welfare. He commended PM Modi’s unwavering dedication to public service over his tenure, both as Prime Minister and former Chief Minister of Gujarat.
In various sectors like health, infrastructure, and agriculture, Vishwakarma outlined the government’s achievements, including the construction of over 12 crore toilets, providing homes to more than four crore families, and increasing medical education seats to over 1.28 lakh.
