India stands out as the country with the highest level of AI integration in its workforce, with 80% of employees utilizing AI multiple times weekly and 41% incorporating it into their daily tasks, according to a report by ADP. A significant 31% of workers anticipate a positive impact on their job responsibilities in the upcoming year, positioning India as one of the most optimistic markets globally.
Despite the widespread adoption and increased engagement in workplaces, individuals who use AI frequently have expressed doubts about their productivity levels. While frequent AI users exhibit higher engagement and reduced workplace stress compared to non-users, they are also more inclined to question their own productivity, the report highlighted.
The report further revealed that knowledge workers exhibit the highest optimism towards AI, with 37% foreseeing a positive influence on their roles, in contrast to 21% of skilled task workers and 19% of repetitive task workers. Notably, younger employees are at the forefront of AI adoption, with 43% of individuals aged 18–39 utilizing AI almost daily.
Moreover, the data indicates that women are embracing AI more actively than men, with 44% of women incorporating AI into their daily routines compared to 40% of men. The usage of AI remains prevalent across organizations of all sizes, with a daily usage rate of 54% among employees in large enterprises.
Highlighting India’s remarkable progress in AI adoption, the report emphasized that Indian employees are embracing AI technologies faster than their global counterparts across various industries, age groups, and company sizes. Rahul Goyal, the Managing Director of ADP India and Southeast Asia, noted that this trend showcases employees’ eagerness to leverage technologies for enhanced productivity and value creation.
The report urged organizations to shift their focus from merely adopting AI to ensuring effective implementation and enabling their workforce to leverage these technologies efficiently.
