India expressed its commitment to enhancing bilateral relations with Bangladesh after the formation of a new government led by Tarique Rahman. The Ministry of External Affairs stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Rahman and a letter was handed over during the swearing-in ceremony by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. The focus is on building upon the existing warm ties between the two nations.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla recently met with Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman during the swearing-in ceremony in Dhaka. Birla conveyed India’s support for Bangladesh’s efforts in nation-building and invited Rahman to visit India. Both leaders expressed their willingness to collaborate for the benefit of their respective populations.

Bangladesh High Commissioner to India, Riaz Hamidullah, shared that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman extended greetings to India and PM Narendra Modi during a courtesy meeting with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. The leaders discussed cooperation for the well-being of the people of both countries. Rahman assumed office as the 11th Prime Minister of Bangladesh after his party’s victory in the recent parliamentary elections.
