Jharkhand’s Giridih district Sub-Registrar Baleshwar Patel was fatally attacked in Ramgarh district during a violent incident related to a land dispute. The attack occurred in Balsagara village under the Mandu police station area, causing shock in the region. Patel had visited his ancestral village on Hul Diwas, a holiday in Jharkhand, and engaged in an argument over a disputed piece of land, leading to a violent altercation.
Eyewitnesses reported that the argument turned violent, with the assailants using stones to seriously injure Patel. Despite prompt police notification by local residents, Patel succumbed to his injuries before help arrived. The Mandu police have initiated investigations, collecting evidence at the crime scene and conducting interviews with locals to identify the perpetrators and reconstruct the events.
Preliminary findings suggest the attack was motivated by the ongoing land dispute. However, authorities are exploring all possible angles and refraining from drawing final conclusions until the investigation concludes. The Ramgarh police are actively pursuing the suspects, conducting raids to apprehend them and ensuring that justice is served swiftly.
The killing of a senior official in broad daylight has rattled the administrative system, raising concerns about law and order in the region, especially in light of persistent land conflicts across Jharkhand.
