Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised India’s successful navigation through the 21st century’s severe global energy crisis, attributing it to timely decisions and strategic planning. Addressing a public gathering in Rajasthan, he emphasized how India transformed challenges into opportunities, becoming the world’s fourth-largest refinery capacity holder. Despite disruptions caused by conflicts in West Asia, India’s energy infrastructure continues to expand.
PM Modi highlighted India’s resilience during the crisis, ensuring uninterrupted energy supply despite soaring crude oil prices and disrupted import routes. He commended the country’s efforts in adapting refinery operations swiftly, increasing LPG production and expanding piped natural gas networks. India’s diplomatic outreach and diversified energy sourcing base were instrumental in maintaining energy security during the crisis.
The Prime Minister underscored the government’s commitment to protecting citizens from international price shocks, particularly in LPG and fertiliser sectors. He lauded the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme’s expansion to support MSMEs amid rising costs. PM Modi also acknowledged citizens for their unity and strength during challenging times, while emphasizing the government’s focus on completing projects for sustainable development.
