India has the potential to spearhead a new human revolution driven by purposeful and accountable Artificial Intelligence, as stated by Vishal Sikka, the founder and CEO of Vianai. Sikka emphasized this during his address at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, highlighting AI as a significant opportunity for the nation. He expressed that just as India has previously revolutionized sectors like connectivity and food security, it now stands at the brink of shaping the next era through AI.

Sikka, who previously served as the CEO of Infosys, believes that AI has the capacity to empower a vast number of entrepreneurs in India. He stressed that the role of AI should extend beyond merely providing livelihoods to enabling individuals to create meaningful lives for themselves and others. According to him, India can progress towards a genuine human revolution by harnessing AI in a purposeful and responsible manner.

The CEO underscored the substantial productivity enhancements achievable through AI when used effectively. He shared instances of individuals leveraging generative AI to accomplish tasks that previously demanded extensive time and resources. Sikka also cited an example of a business leader making swift strategic decisions with the aid of AI, a process that traditionally would have taken significantly longer.

Describing AI as a potent tool, Sikka highlighted its ability to swiftly access information in multiple languages and condense data into various formats. However, he cautioned that reaping the benefits of AI requires a deep understanding of its capabilities and limitations. Sikka, who holds a PhD in AI, pointed out the existing gap between advanced language models and their practical application within businesses.

He emphasized the necessity of developing AI systems that are accurate, reliable, and verifiable to truly unlock its potential value for enterprises. Sikka asserted that bridging this gap could streamline operations within companies by simplifying complex legacy systems and revolutionizing entire industries. By leveraging imagination and responsible deployment, AI has the potential to streamline processes, enhance productivity, and empower individuals across diverse sectors.
