India Post has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing the Rs 4,000-crore revenue mark in the first quarter of the financial year. This marks the highest-ever Q1 revenue of Rs 4,008.95 crore in FY2026-27, as announced by Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia. Describing this achievement as historic, Scindia emphasized the Department’s evolution into a modern, citizen-centric, and growth-oriented organization.
During the Quarterly Business Review Meeting of the Department of Posts in New Delhi, Scindia conducted a comprehensive review of the department’s performance for the April-June quarter. The meeting, attended by senior officials of the Postal Directorate and Chief Postmasters General from all 23 Postal Circles, outlined a strategic roadmap for the remainder of the financial year.
India Post’s first-quarter turnover witnessed a remarkable 22.2% growth compared to the same period in FY2025-26, marking the first instance in the organization’s history where quarterly revenue has surpassed the Rs 4,000-crore milestone. Scindia attributed this strong performance to India Post’s transformation into a forward-looking organization under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The minister acknowledged the dedication of the postal workforce in providing efficient, innovative, and citizen-centric services nationwide. He emphasized that the record-breaking performance in the first quarter of FY 2026–27 not only signifies a financial milestone but also reflects the trust millions of citizens place in India Post daily. Moving forward, the focus remains on enhancing India Post’s global competitiveness, technology integration, and citizen-centric approach.
