The Department of Posts has initiated the ‘India Post Mascot Design Contest’ on the Innovate India MyGov platform. This contest invites citizens from all over India to create the official mascot for India Post, with a total prize pool of Rs 2 lakh. The Ministry of Communications stated that the objective is to develop a unique brand ambassador embodying India Post’s values of trust, reliability, inclusivity, service, and digital innovation.
The competition is open to all Indian citizens, who are required to submit an original mascot design, a suitable name for the mascot, and a brief concept note through the MyGov platform. Entries are accepted from July 15 to August 15. To incentivize creativity, the government has announced cash rewards of Rs 75,000, Rs 50,000, and Rs 25,000 for the top three mascot designs.
Additionally, separate cash prizes of Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000, and Rs 10,000 will be granted for the top three mascot names, bringing the total prize pool to Rs 2 lakh. All winners will receive certificates, and prizes for the mascot design and naming categories will be given independently. The chosen mascot will serve as the official brand ambassador for India Post, appearing in promotional activities, philatelic products, public awareness campaigns, exhibitions, social media platforms, and official communications.
The government encourages students, designers, artists, and creative professionals nationwide to participate in the contest and contribute to shaping India Post’s future visual identity. This initiative coincides with India Post’s efforts to enhance its financial performance, having recently surpassed the Rs 4,000-crore turnover milestone in the first quarter of a financial year, achieving its highest-ever Q1 revenue of Rs 4,008.95 crore in FY 2026-27.
