India has made significant economic strides under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to Union Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia. Speaking at the Young Entrepreneurs Forum Summit 2025 in Indore, he highlighted that India has now become the fourth-largest economy, surpassing Japan. Scindia projected that by 2027, India will further climb to the position of the third-largest economy, overtaking Germany.
Addressing the audience, the minister expressed his enthusiasm for engaging with young entrepreneurs who are driving innovation in the country. He encouraged the “Dreamers, Doers & Disruptors” to take advantage of the thriving startup ecosystem fostered by PM Modi to build impactful enterprises dedicated to nation-building.
Market research firm Tracxn reported that India’s tech startups secured $10.5 billion in funding in 2025, positioning the country as the third-highest recipient globally, ahead of China and Germany. Despite a slight decrease from previous years, India’s tech sector demonstrated resilience, with significant investments in various industries such as Transportation and Logistics Tech, Environment Tech, and Auto Tech.
The tech ecosystem in India witnessed a rise in early-stage funding to $3.9 billion, while late-stage funding decreased to $5.5 billion. Seed-stage funding also saw a moderation to $1.1 billion. The country recorded 14 funding rounds exceeding $100 million, showcasing the robust growth and potential within the Indian tech landscape.
