India reiterated its backing for a two-state solution and Palestine’s UN membership at the Second Ministerial Meeting of the Palestine Donor Group in Brussels. Sripriya Ranganathan, representing India, highlighted the country’s longstanding partnership with Palestine and its commitment to developmental assistance, focusing on healthcare, education, and vocational training. India also announced new projects in areas like rehabilitation, health, and education in Palestine.
During the meeting, India emphasized its engagement in significant initiatives in healthcare, women’s empowerment, and institution building in Palestine. The Secretary also participated in a meeting led by the incoming Chair of the Advisory Commission of UNRWA, showcasing India’s continuous support for the Agency and its endeavors in Palestine. India’s tangible contributions aim to address the humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people effectively.
Abdullah Abu Shawesh, Palestinian Ambassador to India, expressed confidence in India’s strong endorsement of the two-state solution. He highlighted India’s historical support for Palestinian causes at the UN and its substantial investments in peace initiatives on the ground in Palestine. Notably, India is set to embark on a crucial project to construct a hospital in the West Bank, further solidifying its commitment to the region’s development and well-being.
