India remains at the top of the latest ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings, although their lead has slightly decreased. India’s rating dropped by one point to 118, while New Zealand gained two points, narrowing the gap between the top two teams to five points. Australia, the current ODI world champions, maintained their third position with a rating of 109.
South Africa made significant progress by moving up to the fourth spot, surpassing Pakistan. South Africa’s rating increased by four points to 102, while Pakistan dropped to fifth place with 98 points. Sri Lanka and Afghanistan held onto their sixth and seventh positions, respectively, despite minor rating changes. England and Bangladesh maintained their eighth and ninth spots, with 84 points for Bangladesh.
The gap between Bangladesh and the tenth-ranked West Indies widened as the West Indies lost three rating points, dropping to 74. In the lower rankings, Ireland moved up to 11th place, overtaking Zimbabwe, who fell to 12th place. The United States climbed to 13th place, surpassing Scotland. The Netherlands and Oman also showed improvements in their ratings.
Nepal experienced a decline in ratings, while Namibia saw a slight improvement. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) moved up to 19th place, overtaking Canada, which fell to the bottom of the table with a rating of 10. The ICC’s annual update considers team performances over a specific period, with recent results having a greater impact on the rankings.
India continues to dominate in ODI and T20I cricket, while Australia leads the ICC men’s Test rankings and women’s ODI and T20I team rankings.
