This victory marked one of the most significant wins of the day. In the men’s category, Deepak (70kg) and Nikhil (55kg) also impressed with 5-0 wins over their opponents to advance to the semifinals.
With these results, India has now secured six medals at the tournament, showcasing its strong performance on the international stage. Despite a spirited effort, Saneh (65kg) was defeated 0-5 by Poland’s Kinga Krówka, ending India’s run in that category. India’s Minakshi continued her success at the Boxing World Cup (Stage 2) in China, advancing to the quarterfinals in the women’s 51kg category. Transitioning from the 48kg division to the Olympic 51kg weight class, Minakshi secured a convincing 5-0 unanimous decision victory over Poland’s Natalia Kuczewska. Meanwhile, Abhinash Jamwal (65kg) exited the competition after a 0-5 loss to Kyrgyzstan’s Mirzokhid Imamnazarov.
