India showcased exceptional performances on Day 2 of the New Delhi 2026 World Para Athletics Grand Prix, securing numerous podium finishes in track and field events, including several clean sweeps. The Men’s Javelin Throw F43/F44/F64 event saw Paralympic champion Sumit Antil leading an all-Indian podium, clinching gold with a throw of 69.25 meters.
Sumit Antil expressed his satisfaction with his performance, stating that he was not expecting such a remarkable throw but was pleased with the outcome. He emphasized his focus on upcoming competitions and his target of achieving a throw of 75 meters, aiming for success at the Asian Games.
India’s dominance extended to various events, including the men’s 400m run T13, where Subodh Bhatt secured gold, and the Men’s 400m Run T46/T47, where Bhavikkumar Din Bharwad claimed the top spot. The wheelchair category of the Men’s 400m Run T53/T54 also witnessed Indian success, with a podium sweep by Indian athletes.
In the women’s events, Indian athletes delivered strong performances, with notable victories in events such as the Women’s 400m Run T11/T12 and the Women’s Shot Put F36/F37/F40. The Men’s Long Jump T42/T63 and Men’s Shot Put F46 events also saw Indian athletes clinching top positions.
