Jyoti triumphed over Mexico’s Fatima Herrera in the women’s 48kg category, advancing to the finals. Minakshi, a former world No. 1 in the 48kg division, secured a place in the title clash by defeating Spain’s Laura Fuertes Fernandez.
Prachi continued India’s success by defeating France’s Amina Zidani in the 57kg category, progressing to the final. In the men’s competition, Deepak sealed India’s fourth finals berth with a victory over France’s Makan Traore. Additionally, India claimed two bronze medals through Jugnoo and Nikhil in the semifinals.
The upcoming finals on June 21 will witness intense matchups, including Jyoti against Uzbekistan’s Farzona Fozilova in the 48kg category. Minakshi will face China’s Wu Yu in the 51kg final, Prachi will meet Uzbekistan’s Nigina Uktamova in the 57kg gold medal bout, and Deepak will compete against Kazakhstan’s Ablaikhan Zhussupov in the men’s 70kg final. With four boxers contending for gold, India aims to conclude the World Boxing Cup on a high note.
