India’s Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) recently conducted a successful flight test of the Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile (LRLACM) from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha. The test met all objectives, confirming critical technologies and showcasing India’s enhanced long-range precision strike capability. Senior officials from DRDO, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, witnessed the launch.
The LRLACM, developed indigenously with contributions from various DRDO labs and Indian industry partners, marks a significant step towards India’s self-reliance goals and strengthening national defense. This successful test follows a series of recent missile tests by DRDO, highlighting India’s advancements in ballistic missile defense and anti-ship warfare capabilities. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised the achievements, positioning India among nations with elite Ballistic Missile Defence Capabilities.
The recent tests, showcasing cutting-edge technologies to counter evolving missile threats, also included a demonstration of medium-range anti-ship defense capabilities. These developments underscore India’s commitment to enhancing its defense capabilities and achieving self-reliance in defense production.
