India is set to host the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in New Delhi, welcoming Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong, Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi, and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio for discussions under the Quad framework. The meeting, as per the Ministry of External Affairs, will focus on strengthening cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region, maritime security, critical minerals, emerging technologies, supply chain resilience, and regional geopolitical developments.
The Ministers will work towards advancing Quad cooperation across priority areas, reviewing progress on ongoing initiatives, and discussing recent developments in the Indo-Pacific region and other international issues. Key areas of cooperation to be addressed include maritime security, resilient supply chains, infrastructure development, critical and emerging technologies, climate action, and humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
During their visit, the Foreign Ministers will engage in bilateral meetings with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. The meeting is significant as member countries aim to deepen cooperation and coordination on shared regional and global challenges. Reports suggest that new measures to enhance economic security and technology partnerships may be announced during the meeting.
