As Bangladesh held its 13th parliamentary election, India emphasized the need to await the election results before evaluating the political scenario. The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, highlighted the importance of understanding the election outcome before addressing any related issues. India declined to send election observers to Bangladesh despite receiving an invitation.

Violence marred several polling stations in Bangladesh during the election, resulting in the death of a political leader. The incidents of violence underscored the challenging law and order situation and security concerns in the country. Amid the unrest, a Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leader lost his life at a polling station in Khulna district.

Tensions between BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami supporters led to the fatal incident at the Alia Madrasa polling station. Eyewitnesses reported a confrontation between the groups, resulting in the tragic death of the BNP leader. The escalating violence during the elections has raised apprehensions about the fairness of the electoral process in Bangladesh.
