Senior BJP leader Ram Madhav highlighted India’s significant political, economic, and cultural changes in the past decade under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking at an OFBJP event in Washington, Madhav expressed pride in being Indian today, noting the country’s increased strength, unity, and confidence. He emphasized India’s economic growth, with a notable 7.5% GDP increase annually, contrasting it with slower growth in other regions.
Cultural revival was also a focal point, transitioning from a BJP initiative to a mainstream movement, fostering a renewed national identity. Madhav praised the inclusive construction of the Ram temple, involving broad public engagement and contributions transcending political and religious affiliations. He highlighted the significance of the abrogation of Article 370, emphasizing the absence of predicted violence and the lack of major calls for its reinstatement.
Madhav commended the positive nationalism prevailing in India today, characterized by unity and stability, and lauded the sustained public trust in the Modi government. He noted the increasing popularity of PM Modi with prolonged tenure, contrary to conventional political trends, citing recent electoral successes as evidence. Dismissing talks of leadership succession, Madhav emphasized the government’s cautious approach to regional challenges, advocating for responsible assertiveness over aggression.
India’s enhanced global stature, attributed to principled independence in global affairs, was also acknowledged by Madhav. He underscored PM Modi’s transformative impact on India’s domestic politics and international image, positioning him as one of the most electorally dominant leaders in post-independence India.
