Indian actor Sudhanshu Pandey has raised alarm about the increasing trend of glorifying abusive language on reality shows. He expressed worries that if this behavior continues to be celebrated, it could have a detrimental impact on society. Pandey shared his concerns during a social media interaction, highlighting his disturbance over the content gaining popularity on digital platforms and reality shows.
The actor questioned the shift in societal norms, noting the rise in popularity of content that he finds cringe-worthy. He emphasized that such trends are not limited to the younger generation but have also influenced previous generations. Pandey cited instances of excessive abuse on a reality show he recently encountered on an OTT platform, expressing shock at the prevalent use of derogatory language, particularly by female participants.

Linking the acceptance of abusive behavior to a rise in hate crimes and violence, Pandey stressed the impact of words and the need for responsible communication. He called on television channels and OTT platforms to refrain from promoting abusive content under the guise of reality entertainment. Pandey urged for a shift towards more positive and responsible content creation, highlighting the power of words in shaping perceptions and behaviors.
