The Indian Air Force (IAF) Cup and Eastern Air Command (EAC) Cup races took place at the Royal Calcutta Turf Club. These annual events, established in 1996, honor the strong bond between the IAF and the RCTC.

Air Chief Marshal A P Singh, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), graced the occasion as Chief Guest and awarded the IAF Cup to the winner. Air Marshal Inderpal Singh Walia, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command, presented the EAC Cup during the event.

The races witnessed active participation and were attended by senior officers from the Army, Navy, and Coast Guard, emphasizing the unity among India’s armed forces. The Indian Air Force Band added grandeur to the event with its melodious performances, reflecting the spirit and pride of the Air Force.

The RCTC, established in 1847 and granted the title “Royal” in 1912, stands as one of the country’s most esteemed horse racing organizations. It continues to host the IAF and EAC Cup races to honor the rich heritage and contributions of the IAF.

Air Chief Marshal Singh hailed the event as a significant step in fostering camaraderie and strengthening the bond between the Armed Forces and the community. He emphasized the IAF’s dedication to promoting excellence and partnerships across various domains, with events like these showcasing its enduring legacy of professionalism, pride, and unity.
