Indian air carriers have scheduled special relief flights from the Middle East on Tuesday to assist passengers stranded due to the escalating US-Israel and Iran conflict. IndiGo plans to run 10 special flights from Jeddah to India, as confirmed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
SpiceJet also announced four special flights from the UAE on March 3 to aid Indian nationals stuck following airspace closures. These flights will operate from Fujairah to Delhi, Mumbai, and Kochi, with two flights to Mumbai, ensuring swift repatriation of passengers.
Apart from the special services, SpiceJet will resume its scheduled flights between Fujairah and Delhi, as well as Fujairah and Mumbai from March 4, aiming to normalize connectivity between the UAE and India.
In response to the evolving Middle East scenario, Indian carriers are adjusting their schedules and gradually resuming long-haul and ultra long-haul operations through alternative routes to avoid restricted airspace. The Civil Aviation Ministry mentioned ongoing measures to reposition aircraft and crew for operational stability.
