On the night of May 6-7, the Indian armed forces executed Operation Sindoor in retaliation for the Pahalgam attack, targeting significant infrastructure in Pakistan occupied Kashmir and Pakistan. Key facilities destroyed included the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammad in Bahawalpur and the primary training center of Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke.
Experts highlight the multi-front battle the Indian armed forces faced during the operation. While dismantling terror infrastructure, they successfully neutralized a series of hostile drones originating from Pakistan, ensuring each incoming drone was intercepted effectively.
Amid the operation, Pakistan activated its propaganda machinery on social media to spread false narratives aiming to demoralize the Indian armed forces. However, the Indian government effectively countered these narratives, ultimately achieving retribution for the Pahalgam incident and sending a strong message to Pakistan.
The operation not only targeted terror infrastructure utilized for attacks on India but also signaled a shift in India’s strategic approach to national security. It emphasized that every terror attack would be considered an act of war, compelling Pakistan to reconsider its hostile actions and prompting India to bolster its defense technology against evolving threats.
Following Operation Sindoor, the Indian government sanctioned emergency procurements, including replenishing missile stocks, drones, anti-tank guided missiles, and upgrading the Integrated Air Command and Control System (IACCS) to enhance the nation’s defense capabilities.
