In a display of bravery, the National Cadet Corps (NCC) team of the Indian armed forces in Nagpur, Maharashtra, rescued a local trapped in a well near the Combined Annual Training Camp. The rescue operation took place on July 3 after the NCC personnel were alerted about the incident.
Major Rizu Rawat, along with the NCC team, responded swiftly to the call for help from a woman reporting a person stuck in the well. The team, equipped with ropes and safety gear, successfully rescued the victim who had fallen into the well the previous evening and had been stranded for nearly 18 hours.
Following the rescue, the man received immediate medical attention and first aid at the NCC camp. Grateful for his new lease on life, he praised the NCC staff for their guidance and quick action in saving him. The Officer Commanding of the NCC battalion commended the team for their dedication to public service, emphasizing the core values of “Unity and Discipline” upheld during the rescue operation.
