The Indian Army initiated ‘Mission Krishiveer’ in East Siang district, Arunachal Pradesh, to enhance the connection between farms and military units. Spearhead Division of the Spear Corps, in collaboration with the Army Service Corps, introduced the project at Sigar Military Station. The aim is to establish a direct supply chain from local farmers to Army units stationed in the area.

This initiative is designed to provide fresh, quality agricultural products to the troops while boosting income opportunities for farmers in the region. By cutting out middlemen, ‘Mission Krishiveer’ intends to create a transparent and efficient procurement system benefiting both the Armed Forces and local farmers. Additionally, it is expected to improve border logistics, enhance supply chain efficiency in remote regions, and contribute to regional food security.

MLA Oken Tayeng, along with senior Army officials and civil administration representatives, commended the joint effort between the Indian Army and local stakeholders. Tayeng emphasized that the project would significantly improve farmers’ livelihoods and strengthen cooperation between civil authorities and the Armed Forces. Senior Army officials highlighted that ‘Mission Krishiveer’ aligns with the vision of self-reliance and national development through the integration of local agricultural capabilities with military logistics requirements.
