With a focus on youth welfare and social awareness, the Indian Army, along with school students and teachers, conducted an anti-drug rally at Manigong in Arunachal Pradesh under the theme “No Drugs, No Dropouts.” The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and stress the importance of education for a secure future. The event saw active participation from students, teachers, and local residents, all showing concern for the well-being of the younger generation.

Army personnel engaged closely with students and educators during the program, facilitating discussions on the negative impacts of drug abuse. An awareness lecture was held for students of Manigong Higher Secondary School, encouraging them to lead healthy lives, stay focused on education, and make informed decisions. The interaction highlighted the shared responsibility of steering youth away from addiction towards education and positive development.

A significant aspect of the initiative was an anti-drug rally in Manigong village, where participants marched with banners advocating a drug-free, education-centric society. The rally garnered positive feedback from the locals, showcasing effective military-civil cooperation in addressing social issues. The event concluded with a commitment to building a drug-free, educated, and empowered community in Manigong, reinforcing the Indian Army’s commitment to community outreach and nation-building.

In a separate effort, the Spearhead Division of the Spear Corps organized “A Day in Barracks with Soldiers” for students from a government school in Kaying. The students visited an infantry battalion to gain insights into soldiers’ daily routines, aiming to instill values of discipline, patriotism, and service to the nation. The visit included tours of key areas like the battalion quarter guard to learn about security protocols and interactions with soldiers to understand the importance of teamwork and camaraderie.

During the visit, students were introduced to drone technology at the drone training area, witnessing drone flying and learning about defense technological advancements. They explored the use of drones for surveillance and monitoring, aiding soldiers in detecting threats and executing tasks accurately with real-time data. The day ended with the students watching motivational videos in the recreation room, fostering enthusiasm, connecting classroom learning with practical exposure, and inspiring them to become responsible citizens and future leaders.
