The Red Shield Division of the Indian Army’s Spear Corps organized an Agniveer Preparedness Program in Assam’s Charaideo district. The program aimed to motivate and mentor local youth interested in joining the armed forces. Around 200 students, including 56 girls, participated in the event held at Borhat in collaboration with the district administration.
The initiative focused on guiding aspiring candidates on various recruitment aspects under the Agniveer scheme. This included preparation for physical fitness, written examinations, and the overall selection process for entry into the Indian Army. Army personnel interacted with students during the event, explaining the physical standards, endurance requirements, and examination patterns necessary for Agniveer recruitment.
Participants were briefed on the significance of discipline, dedication, leadership qualities, and mental preparedness essential for a successful career in the armed forces. The program provided students with insights into the recruitment process and emphasized the level of preparation required for effective competition. Special attention was given to encouraging youth from rural and remote areas to consider opportunities in national service through the armed forces.
The participation of a significant number of girls in the program was viewed positively, indicating a growing interest among young women in pursuing careers in defense services. This outreach initiative by the Indian Army forms part of its ongoing efforts to engage with local communities and inspire the younger generation in the Northeast. The program was commended by the district administration and local community members for promoting youth empowerment and raising awareness about career opportunities in the Army.
Similar outreach and awareness initiatives have been organized by the Indian Army in various districts of the region to guide and mentor aspiring candidates preparing for defense recruitment.
