India’s Jadumani Singh Mandengbam showcased a strong performance in the Commonwealth Games 2026 boxing competition by defeating Scotland’s Aaron Cullen with a unanimous 5-0 decision in the men’s 55kg Round of 32 in Glasgow. Throughout the match, all five judges favored Jadumani, awarding him every round with identical 30-27 scores, highlighting his control from start to finish.

Competing in front of a supportive home crowd at the SEC Hall in Glasgow, Cullen struggled to keep up with Jadumani’s speed, precision, and ring dominance as the Indian boxer led the bout with disciplined offense and solid defense. Following this impressive win, Jadumani progressed to the Round of 16, where he is set to face Pakistan’s Rehman on July 26 for a chance to enter the quarterfinals.

This victory marks a strong beginning for India in the boxing competition at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, aiming to enhance its medal count. Meanwhile, Lovlina Borgohain, an Olympic bronze medalist, secured India’s first boxing medal by receiving a bye in the initial round and directly qualifying for the semifinals, where both semifinalists secure bronze medals. Lovlina, a bronze medalist in the 2020 Commonwealth Games, is eyeing an improved performance in the upcoming matches.
