As per a recent report, 85% of Indian consumers have displayed significant trust in artificial intelligence (AI) and are optimistic about its impact on the future. The study, conducted by Assurant, Inc., indicates that 94% of respondents believe that technology has positively influenced their lives. India’s Technology Sentiment Index stands at 74, surpassing the global average, showcasing a high level of confidence in technology and a willingness to embrace advanced experiences.
Consumers in India are increasingly open to AI-powered devices that enhance various aspects of their lives, including productivity, communication, and daily convenience. The report highlights a growing demand for seamless, always-on experiences, with smartphones, computers, and connected devices playing pivotal roles in work, entertainment, communication, and financial transactions.
Federico Bunge, the President, International at Assurant, emphasized the importance of technology adapting to individual needs by blending innovation with simplicity, trust, and reliability. In India, there is a rapid adoption of AI-driven innovations, with optimistic and digitally savvy consumers seeking seamless, always-available experiences that seamlessly integrate into their daily routines.
The report also underscores the significance of protection plans in bolstering consumer confidence and enhancing brand value. Notably, 97% of Indian consumers expressed that customizable protection plans increase their likelihood of purchasing a device and enrolling in protection services. This trend signifies a dynamic and forward-looking consumer market in India, according to Harini Kannan, Country Director at Assurant India.
