The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has commended the Indian economy, hailing it as a global growth engine. This praise has led the BJP to criticize Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party for their past negative comments on India’s economic status.
BJP spokesperson CR Kesavan pointed out Rahul’s previous statement calling India a “dead economy” in contrast to his recent acknowledgment of India’s positive growth trajectory. Kesavan questioned whether Rahul Gandhi would apologize for his earlier remarks, which he labeled as irresponsible and misleading.
Describing Rahul as the “Leader of Pessimism,” Kesavan accused him of spreading false information and undermining India’s progress. The BJP’s strong reaction follows the IMF’s recent acknowledgment of India’s robust economic performance, with a GDP growth rate exceeding expectations.
Notably, India has recorded significant growth rates in the first three quarters of the fiscal year, with projections indicating continued strong performance. The IMF’s upcoming World Economic Outlook is expected to further highlight India’s role as a key driver of global economic growth.
