Indian gymnast Pranati Nayak is receiving strong backing from the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, the Sports Authority of India (SAI), and the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) as she gears up for the 2026 Commonwealth Games and Asian Games. The government is facilitating her training with international exposure, foreign training, and national coaching camps, among other sustained support measures. Currently, Pranati is participating in the Senior & Junior Women’s Artistic Gymnastics National Coaching Camp in Bhubaneswar, in preparation for the upcoming Senior Asian Championships in China.
Pranati Nayak, who competed in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, is part of the Indian Senior Women’s Artistic Gymnastics team gearing up for the 13th Senior Asian Championships in Zunyi, China. The ongoing coaching camp in Bhubaneswar, costing Rs 23.52 lakh, includes 21 campers, comprising senior and junior gymnasts, coaches, and support staff. Additionally, financial assistance of Rs 36.59 lakh has been approved by the government for the Indian WAG contingent’s participation in the continental championships in China.
Under the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS), Pranati Nayak has received personalized support, including financial assistance of Rs 5.89 lakh for her participation in the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, where she secured a silver medal. Furthermore, TOPS sanctioned Rs 75.65 lakh for an international training camp in the United Kingdom and participation in international competitions, aimed at enhancing India’s gymnastics program for the upcoming Olympic and Asian Games cycle.
In a bid to strengthen India’s gymnastics program, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) had earlier approved a Senior National Coaching Camp in Bhubaneswar, involving 27 campers, including senior men and women gymnasts, from February to March this year, aligning with the country’s preparations for the 2026 Commonwealth and Asian Games.
