Both parties emphasized the increasing engagement between India and Kenya across different areas, highlighting the scope for enhanced cooperation with the county.
The 10th meeting of the Joint Trade Committee of India and Kenya took place in Nairobi, co-chaired by the Commerce Secretary of India and the Principal Secretary for Trade of Kenya. The discussions revolved around boosting bilateral trade, addressing trade barriers, and strengthening cooperation in key sectors such as pharmaceuticals, agriculture, digital infrastructure, fintech, energy, and manufacturing. Progress on development partnerships and collaboration in logistics and infrastructure planning was also reviewed during the meeting.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) at the sidelines of the 10th India-Kenya Joint Trade Committee meeting. The MoU focused on exchanging pre-arrival information for goods, aiming to facilitate smoother trade processes between the two countries.
